Carolyn
February 13th, 2012I’m working on a new project of sorts – stripped down portraits of models – no hair stylist, minimal makeup, the model’s own simple clothing. I want it to be about the girl and not all the “glitter”. This is my first attempt.

An Afternoon With Alexandra
February 9th, 2012I’ve shot with Alexandra over a dozen times at this point – both for personal and client work – but something we’ve never done together is lifestyle. I believe in playing up to a model’s strengths and so I had to pick the right kind of lifestyle for Alexandra. I went with a slightly lo-fi, “Urban Outfitters” vibe as this would let Alexandra’s personality show, let her give the camera a little attitude, while not having her have to “act” too happy.
Genevieve – chapter 2
February 5th, 2012Last August, I photographed Genevieve (which I blogged about here). We both recently got hair cuts (hers a much more drastic change than mine) and so it was time for some new photos.

January 15th, 2012I do love a girl with freckles…
Laura Kirkpatrick
January 4th, 2012A couple weeks before Christmas I had the pleasure of shooting with Laura Kirkpatrick. You may recognize her from America’s Next Top Model – she was the runner up on cycle 13 and she was most recently on the All-Stars cycle (where she placed 4th). We shot at a private residence in Hollywood and I was going for a slight “old Hollywood” vibe.
Hello 2012
January 1st, 2012Hello 2012. To usher in the new year I thought I’d share some images from my last shoot of 2011. I worked with two of my favourite people, Chelsea (on makeup) and Ashley (on hair) and we shot with Megan from No Ties Model Mgmt (it’s hard to believe she’s only 16!). We started with some clean makeup looks…
Brianna
December 22nd, 2011Brianna is from New York and thankfully our schedules were such that we could shoot right before she left Los Angeles. I worked with my regular team to set up a fashion story which we shot down at the LA river. The following image actually isn’t from the editorial but something random and extra we did at the end of the shoot. When we started shooting, both Brianna and I mentioned how amazing it would be if she could just get all the clothing wet. Obviously this was not going to happen while she was wearing the clothing the stylist pulled BUT she had this sheer yellow shirt in her car and so at the end of the day she threw it on and laid in the water. Spontaneity and the willingness to play are two of my favourite qualities in a model.

I’ll be posting some images from the actual editorial in the next few weeks.
