TAPE magazine

May 14th, 2012

Last month I did something I haven’t done in years – I had a model come over and we shot – just her and I – no makeup, no hair, no wardrobe stylist.  I shot in a much more lo-fi style than I normally do – and I really enjoyed it.  Recently I’ve found myself going back to my photography roots – and I learned photography on film cameras, without using Photoshop.  While I did shoot digitally, I also ran a roll of colour slide film through my Pentax and then cross processed it.

Throughout the month of April, I had also been in contact with the editor at TAPE magazine – after shooting with Angie I sent him over some proofs and he picked up the series for the second issue!  Not only that, but Touchpuppet (an awesome fashion blog) posted the editorial as well.

Here are some images that didn’t make it into the magazine (NSFW after the jump)

Sessions magazine Issue 6

April 17th, 2012

Sessions magazine picked up an editorial I shot with Brianna Michelle (Photogenics) for their April 2012 issue.  Brianna was visiting LA from NYC and reached out to both Ja’Niya and I to shoot (not knowing that we work together all the time).  I rounded out the team with makeup artist, Chelsea Allen (whom I work with all the time).  We shot in downtown LA – near the bridges and the LA river – using nothing but the sun.

Marley

April 12th, 2012

About a year ago I shot with Marley for the first time. Both her and I have come a long way over the past 12 months and it was nice to be reunited and do a shoot with a completely different vibe.

Bekka Gunther

April 6th, 2012

At the end of March I shot a swimwear editorial with one of my new favourite models, Bekka Gunther.  I can’t share the swimwear images just yet as they are for publication but we shot a couple of random things at the end of day.  Veronica Lane was on hand for hair and makeup and I had a new stylist on board, Jacqueline Sapigao.

NAHA

March 30th, 2012

A few months ago I worked with hair stylist, Ashley Lynn Hall, on her NAHA (North American Hairstyling Awards) submission.  Veronica Lane (one of my regulars) was on hand for makeup and we had some amazing models – including my new favourite gal, Bekka Gunther.

Kristina Anapau

March 15th, 2012

Back in August I was introduced to actress Kristina Anapau (Black Swan, True Blood) by one of my regular makeup artists, Teal Druda.  Teal and Kristina had worked on a film together earlier that summer and had talked about doing photos together.  Since Teal and I not only work together, but are also friends, this is where I came in.  Teal, Kristina, and I spent a couple hours at the Santa Monica Pier and hung out and took photos (which is my favourite way to work).  I’ve waited so long to share them because shortly after the shoot, the STNDRD magazine did an interview with Kristina for their first issue and they used photos from our shoot for the story.  There were a few delays with the release of the issue BUT it’s now finally out and on newsstands.
